UAlbany's Lyle Thompson Earns IL Preseason Player of the Year, Thompsons Grace Inside Lacrosse Cover

BALTIMORE – Lyle Thompson has been selected as the Inside Lacrosse Preseason Division I Player of the Year, the publication released on Friday. In addition, the three Thompsons, Lyle, Miles and Ty, are on the cover of the February issue of Inside Lacrosse, currently available digitally and soon to be in newsstands. Lyle Thompson, who was also chosen as the Lacrosse Magazine DI Preseason Player of the Year, was one of five finalists for the Tewaaraton Trophy and enters his junior season after leading the NCAA with 113 points last year, including 50 goals and 63 assists. The 2013 America East Player of the Year has racked up 151 points in his career thus far. In the Inside Lacrosse issue, the publication talks to players, UAlbany head coach Scott Marr and others about the Thompsons’ play. Combined, the three scored 254 points last season, including 147 goals and 107 assists. All three earned All-America status and return for the 2014 season.
