Great Dane Field Hockey Comes in at 23rd on National Poll This Week

ALBANY, N.Y. -- The University at Albany field hockey team remains among the top-25 Division I programs in the nation, as announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association on Tuesday afternoon. The Great Danes, who have been ranked since the first week of the 2010 season, dropped one spot to 23rd this week.


UAlbany (7-7) went 1-1 last week, falling to New Hampshire, who moved up to #20 in the rankings in America East Conference action. The Great Danes then posted a 2-0 win over non-conference opponent Columbia on Sunday.

The Great Danes will visit league foe Fairfield on Friday at 3 p.m., before welcoming Patriot League opponent Lehigh to Alumni Turf Field on Sunday at 2 p.m.
