University of Albany's Karlijn van Dijsseldonk Chosen America East Field Hockey Rookie of the Week - UAlbany Sports 2011

Cambridge, Mass. - University at Albany's Karlijn van Dijsseldonk was named America East Conference Rookie of the Week in field hockey, as announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.

In the season opening 5-0 win over Robert Morris, van Dijsseldonk notched her first career goal just after the second half began. The goal came off a pass just inside the arc through the middle, van Dijsseldonk sent the blast into the left side of the cage. She also registered two shots in the match as a starter.

A native of Eindhoven, Netherlands, van Dijsseldonk was a member of the national league team and played in several international competitions
