Former UAlbany star Brendan Rowland is now a member of the Atlanta Braves organization. He signed as a free agent today and will report to the Braves Gulf Coast league team on Wednesday. The Gulf Coast Braves play their games at the Walt Disney World complex.
Rowland, an all-America East selection this past season, led the Danes in hitting (.330), doubles (11), home runs (7), RBI's (39) and slugging percentage (.521)
He was signed after his performance at the Braves try-out camp at Belizzi Field on June 12th. Former Albany High baseball coach Joey DiPiazza is an associate scout with the Braves.
