Albany, N.Y. – UAlbany’s Michelle Simpson earned Longstreth/NFHCA Division I All-Northeast Region honors for the second consecutive season, highlighting four Great Danes on the squad. Simpson, along with freshman Anouk Vandenberg, earned first team accolades, while junior goalkeeper Ashley Ross and sophomore Nicole Savage were named to the second team.
Simpson earned America East Conference First Team honors for the second straight year after finishing with 13 goals and eight assists for 34 total points as a senior. Vandenberg was named to the all-conference first team and all-rookie squad after finishing the season ranked first in the conference and seventh in the nation with 13 assists.
Ross, an all-conference first-team member for the second time, earned Northeast second team accolades after compiling five shutouts and a 1.14 goals against average, putting her sixth in the country. Savage led the team with 14 goals and added three assists for 31 total points, en route to being named to the all-conference second team.
UAlbany finished the season at 15-5 overall after falling to conference champion Boston U. in the America East Championship on Nov. 4.
