UAlbany beat Vermont today in overtime, 2-1, and advances to the America East Championship final to be played on Sunday, November 4th at 1:30pm at Jack Barry Field (Cambridge, Mass.)
Michelle Simpson scored at the five minute mark to put UAlbany on the board first. UAlbany had 7 shots on goal in the first half. Kelly McClintock scored for Vermont at the 52 minute mark. The game remained tied to force the game into overtime.
Michelle Simpson remained hot into the overtime period, scoring the sudden death goal at the 78th minute and putting UAlbany into the championship final on sunday.
Her two goals were numbers 12 and 13 of the season. UAlbany outshot Vermont 20-11 in this semifinal game.
