Albany, N.Y. – Former University at Albany basketball players Lucious Jordan and Levi Levine, who led the Great Danes to their first-ever NCAA tournament appearance in 2005-06, recently signed to play this season in Europe. Jordan, a 6-foot-2 guard from Albany, N.Y., is a member of the Emmen Eagles, a second division team in Holland. Levine, a 6-foot-6 forward from New York, N.Y., is playing in Ireland’s top division with the UCC Demons.
Jordan, who was on the roster of the CBA’s Albany Patroons for a period of time last year, was named to the 2006 America East Conference all-championship team when he led the Great Danes to their first conference title and an 21-11 record. He averaged 8.4 points and 3.2 rebounds as a senior, and netted 12 points in a memorable NCAA first-round battle with No. 2 Connecticut in Philadelphia. Jordan, who transferred from Loyola, Md. after his sophomore season, scored 1,418 career points on the collegiate level.
Levine, who was a tri-captain with Jordan on the 2005-06 UAlbany squad, played in Germany last year. He finished his college career ranked No. 14 on the school’s all-time scoring list with 1,270 points in 114 games played. Levine was also sixth in steals (138), 13th in rebounding (610) and tied for 16th in assists (250). He scored in double figures on 68 occasions.
