Cambridge, Mass. - University at Albany’s Joe Greene has been named the America East indoor track Performer of the Week, as announced by the conference office for the week ending Dec. 3.
Greene, a junior from Geneva, N.Y., opened the 2007-08 season at the Husky Winter Carnival hosted by Northeastern by taking first in the 55-meter hurdles in 7.69 seconds, qualifying for the IC4A meet in March. The time was a personal-best and the seventh-fastest 55-meter hurdle time in program history. Greene also ran the anchor leg of the first place 4x400-meter relay team that crossed the finish line in an IC4A-qualifying time of 3:19.21.
The Great Danes return to the track on Friday, Jan. 11 at the Army Invitational in West Point, N.Y.
