UAlbany Field Hockey Ranked #17 on STX/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll

Albany, N.Y. – Despite two wins this past week, the UAlbany field hockey team was dropped down one position, ranking #17 in the STX/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll, as announced on Tuesday afternoon. It is the fifth-straight week the Great Danes have been nationally ranked.

UAlbany (11-3, AE 3-0) were undefeated in two games last week. The Great Danes continued America East Conference play with a 1-0 win over Vermont on Saturday before defeating Fairfield, 3-0, at home on Sunday. Sophomore defender Jess Lindsey scored two goals and recorded an assist in the two victories, while junior goalkeeper Ashley Ross earned her fifth solo shutout of the season in the blanking of Vermont.

The Great Danes will take a break from conference play as they travel to Cornell on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Other ranked teams:

-Louisville moved up 3 positions to #14, passing UAlbany, despite UAlbany winning both games played this past week.
-American University dropped one position to #16, despite going 1-0 this past week.
-Boston University moved up one position to #13, despite going 1-1 this past week.
-Boston College dropped only two postions to #12, despite going 0-2 this past week.
-Duke University moved up one position to #11, despite going 0-1 this past week.
