Fayetteville, Ark. – UAlbany’s Valete Graham set the school record in the long jump to lead the Great Danes at Arkansas’ Tyson Invitational on Friday, Feb. 15 in Fayetteville, Ark.
Graham, a sophomore from Bronx, N.Y., registered a leap of 23-feet, 11.75-inches to place third in the long jump. Graham’s jump eclipsed the previous record of 23-feet, 11.5-inches set by Luis Soto in 2000.
In the 60-meter dash, junior Pat Weider crossed the finish line in 7.13 seconds, the fastest of the season by a Great Dane. Junior Jean Juste, the reigning America East Conference track performer of the week, finished the 60-meter hurdles in 8.20 seconds
Day two of the Tyson Invitational begins at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16.
