UAlbany Volleyball Drops Regular-Season Conference Finale to New Hampshire, 3-1

Durham, N.H. – Kirsten Bates recorded a double-double with 20 kills and 17 digs to lead New Hampshire to a 3-1 win over UAlbany in America East Conference volleyball action on Sunday afternoon, in the regular-season conference finale. With the win, the Wildcats claim the second seed in the conference tournament with an 8-4 league record, including a season-sweep of the Great Danes. UAlbany, which also finished 8-4 in conference play, will be seeded third in the championship field.

Freshman outside hitter Amanda Cowdrey finished with 16 kills and 15 digs to lead the Great Danes, while sophomore Valerie Sourbeer added 15 kills for UAlbany. Junior middle blocker Kamisha Kellam added 11 kills and three block assists. Senior middle blocker Ashley Crenshaw totaled five kills, and now has 999 in her four-year career with the Great Danes. Freshman setter Brooke Stanley had 44 assists while freshman libero Tawny Dahmes led the team defensively with a match-high 24 digs.

Emmy Blouin added 15 kills, eight digs and three service aces for the Wildcats, while Jessica Compton finished with 11 kills and three block assists. Setter Sara Heldman recorded a match-high 46 assists, while libero Alyse Lahti tallied 23 defensive digs for New Hampshire (19-8, AE 8-4).

UAlbany (19-8, AE 8-4) will travel to regular-season champion Stony Brook for the America East Conference Championship on Saturday, Nov. 17 and Sunday, Nov. 18.
