UAlbany's Ashley Crenshaw Named America East Conference Volleyball Player of the Week

Cambridge, Mass. – University at Albany’s Ashley Crenshaw was named the America East Conference Player of the Week, as announced today by the conference office.

Crenshaw, a senior outside hitter, averaged 4.38 kills and 1.05 blocks through the first 21 games of the season. Both of those stats put her in the conference's top seven. The senior also leads the league with a .431 hitting percentage. Her opening weekend was highlighted by a career-best 28-kill performance against Northern Arizona. Against the Lumberjacks, Crenshaw also tied a career-high with six digs and recorded six total blocks. Crenshaw’s is averaging 5.31 points per game, second-best in America East. She recorded four straight double-digit kill matches, tallying 17 against UC Davis, 17 versus West Virginia and 14 in a 3-1 win over Buffalo.

Crenshaw, a native of Birmingham, Ala., was named to the all-conference first-team last season after finishing second on UAlbany’s squad with 3.02 kills and 0.88 blocks per game.
